What Say does
Uses macOS speech synthesis with the system voice and default speaking behavior. The result popup can pause, resume, or replay speech, and closing the popup stops playback.

Workflow
Use Say
Follow these steps to speak selected text with the Mac system voice with ActionClip.
- Select the text you want to use.
- Choose Say from ActionClip.
- ActionClip speaks the selection using the current macOS system voice.
Before you add it
Requirements and privacy
- Before you start: A macOS system speech voice must be available.
- Your selected text: Speech synthesis runs locally with the macOS system voice. The selected text does not leave your Mac.
Choose a speech voice
ActionClip includes shared voice preferences for Speak and translation. Search installed voices, preview them, or open Apple’s voice downloader. Automatic prefers Premium and Enhanced voices available to apps; some downloaded Siri voices cannot be used. Choose and download speech voices.
